Viajo a destinos de media-larga distancia desde que mis hijas tenían 6 meses. Mi experiencia viajando con mis propios hijos es amplia, mostradles nuevos lugares, culturas y hacerles participes de experiencias tan distintas a su lugar de residencia, me parece un regalo que no tiene precio. Por supuesto todo depende de la edad de los niños también, no es lo mismo un niño de 5 años que otro de 12.
I have traveled to middle and long distance destinations since my daughters were 6 months old. My experience of traveling with my own children is wide, to show them new places, cultures and to make them participate in experiences so different from where they live, is for me, a priceless gift. Of course it all depends on the age of the children obviously, it isn´t the same for a 5 year old to one of 12 years of age.
Llevar un ritmo pausado: es importante llevar un ritmo mas tranquilo durante el circuito y estar en cada lugar más tiempo o visitar menos lugares. En general los trayectos se hacen mas difíciles para los pequeños y se suelen aburrir, también cambiar de lugar a menudo implica hacer y re-hacer las maletas cada vez.
Take a leisurely pace: it is important to keep a slower pace during the tour and be in each place longer or visit fewer places. In general, a journey may become more difficult for the small ones, and usually they become bored, in addition to change places often involves re-packing time after time.
El trasporte: Por mi propia experiencia en el avión no hay problemas, entre que la aerolínea les da un detalle, la comida, los canales de entretenimiento y el sueño que les entra, en el avión no hay problema. En coche es distinto, si existe una distancia larga, un dvd portátil es la solución.
Transportation: From my own experience on the plane there´s no problems, while the airline gives a little detail to the kids to play with, food, entertainment channels and before you know it they are fast asleep; on the plane no problem. By car it´ts different if it´s a long distance ride, a portable DVD may be the solution.
Con la ausencia del DVD, habrá otros aparatos. Mi hija se entretiene con su camera que tiene opciones divertidas de editar las fotos.
With the absence of a DVD player, there are certainly other devices. My daughter entertains herself with her camera that has fun editing options.
Entretenimiento: Un parchis, la oca, cartas, el domino, libros para pintar, pegatinas para pegar, tebeos todo estos detalles hacen que cuando los niños se aburran, tengamos recursos para que se lo pasen bien, muchas veces la diferencia entre estar de mal humor o todo lo contrario pasándolo bien.
Entertainment: A game of Ludo or other board games such as snakes and ladders, cards, dominoes, coloring books, stickers to past , comic books, etc. all these help the children not to get bored, it´s essential to have some games for them not to get bored. It often makes the difference between being in a bad mood or the opposite…having a great time.
En este caso estuvimos en un barco que nos llevó de Vietnam a Camboya, un trayecto de más de seis horas. Entonces es cuando nos ocurrió un juego donde `Ruby´ el peluche es el protagonista.
In this case we were on a boat that took us from Vietnam to Cambodia, a distance of more than six hours. That’s when we came up with a game where `Ruby´ the stuffed animal is the main character.
