Los Dinkas de Sudan de Sur viven según la temporada anual. Cuando es la temporada de lluvias, viven en asentamientos permanentes en la sabana y plantan los cultivos de cereales como el mijo. The Dinkas of South Sudanl live according to the annual season. When it is the rainy season, they live in permanent settlements in the savannah and plant cereal crops such as millet. There is little time for recreation during the dry season, when much of the Dinka population disperses to follow the herds.
Their lives are very closely intertwined with their cattle – at their coming of age ceremony, young Dinka men are given an ox, and that ox’s name becomes a part of their own name.
Dinka men make spears and fishing hooks. Women make clay cooking pots and for carrying water. Dinka women also weave baskets and sleeping mats.
