HEIDI LANGE
Heidi Lange es una artista sueca que reside en Naivasha, Kenia y que ha sucumbido a la magia de África y ahora, a su vez, nos hehiza con su obra de arte de un África virgen. Fascinada por las pinturas murales vistas en Europa, descubre pinturas rupestres durante sus viajes por el país de los bosquimanos y presenta una colección de pinturas inspiradas en descubrimientos prehistóricos y arqueológicos. Ella es responsable de las maravillosas pinturas de arte rupestre de Seronera Wildlife Lodge en Serengeti, Tanzania.
Heidi Lange is Swedish artist which resides in Naivasha, Kenya and who has succumbed to Africa´s magic and now, in turn, enchants us with her artwork of an unspoilt Africa. Fascinated by mural paintings seen in Europe she discovers rock paintings during her travels in the Bushmen country and presents a collection of paintings inspired by prehistoric and archeological discoveries. She is responsible for the wonderful rock art paintings at Seronera WildlifeLodge in Serengeti,Tanzania.
Los viajes de la artista la llevan a los días de los nómadas en los que sus Masai andaban por la sabana africana como se ejemplifica en los tres paneles «Sabana africana», «Serengeti», «Caza Masai». El sol aquí esm un glorioso asunto donde amarillos y rojos afirman este pasado colorido. La abundante flora y fauna, así como las primitivas pinturas rupestres han inspirado en ella un estilo personal que abarca tanto lo primitivo como lo moderno sin comprometer su origen europeo.
The artist´s journeys take her to the days of the nomads where her Masai roamed the African Savannah as exemplified in the three panels “African Savannah”, “Serengeti” a “Masai Hunting”. The sun here is glorious affair and yellows and reds assert this colorful past. The bountiful flora and fauna, as well as primitive cave paintings have inspired in her a personal style that embraces both the primitive and modern without compromising her European background.
También hay un segundo lado del trabajo del artista; una palabra soñada de flores, áloes y bayas que evocan lo primordial como «En mi jardín de Naivasha». Este paraíso de flores multicolores y vegetación es el tema de muchos otros lienzos, incluido su «Árbol de los niños» (PNUMA) «Picnic bajo el Baobab» y «African Eden». There is also a second side to the artist´s work; a dream word of flowers, aloes and berries that evoke the primordial as “In my Naivasha Garden”. This paradise of multicolored flowers and vegetation is the subject of several other canvases including her “Children´s Tree” (for UNEP) “Picnic under the Baobab” and “African Eden”. In some of these she sees a world where all races live in harmony and animals once again co-exist with humanity. It is here paradise regained.
Las impresiones que se muestran son serigrafiadas sobre algodón puro que ha sido impreso individualmente y teñido a mano para producir un fondo distintivamente original. Cada batik es por lo tanto único en sus características.
The prints displayed are silk-screened onto pure cotton that has been individually printed and tie-dyed by hand to produce a distinctly original background. Each batik is thus unique in its characteristics.

Otro mundo igualmente `colorido´ de retratos existe en el trabajo de Heidi. Está la niña africana romántica con el ojo estilizado del arte egipcio antiguo y una delicada sofocación de los rasgos faciales hacia un tipo Heidi dominado por un estilo de pelo dreadlock en tonos de gris y negro. Aquí «Kamba Girl», «Suk Dancer», «Masai Morans», etc., no son ni representaciones étnicas ni verdaderas semejanzas de ningún individuo en particular.
Another equally `colorful´ world of portraits does exist in Heidi´s work. There is the romanticized African girl with the stylized eye of ancient Egyptian art and a delicate smothering of facial features towards a Heidi-type dominated by a dreadlock hair style in shades of gray and black. Here “Kamba Girl”, “Suk Dancer”, “Masai Morans” and so forth are neither ethnic representations nor true likeness of any particular individuals.
