El caballito de mar macho está equipado con una bolsa en la ventral lado de la cola. Durante el apareamiento, la hembra caballitos de mar deposita hasta 1.500 huevos en la bolsa del macho. El macho lleva los huevos de 9 a 45 días hasta que los caballitos de mar emergen completamente desarrollados, pero muy pequeños.
The male seahorse is equipped with a pouch on the ventral, side of the tail. When mating, the female seahorse deposits up to 1,500 eggs in the male’s pouch. The male carries the eggs for 9 to 45 days until the seahorses emerge fully developed, but very small.
