Recently declared Marine Conservation Zone, Mnemba Island is a coral atoll, surrounded by blossoming reefs and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. It is a paradise to see tropical fish, turtles and occasionally dolphins in spectacular surroundings. A very recommendable excursion.
This is a very pleasant excursion where we will have opportunity to see the dolphins in their natural surroundings. In this zone there are 3 types of dolphins, the spotted, the bottlesnose and the humpback.
The shallow coastal waters around Kizimkazi are a favorite gathering place for the dolphins who come here to feed, nurse their young, rest and socialize. The excursion starts very early in the morning when the water is cooler, in the afternoon the water is warmer and the dolphins tend to seek deeper water. Sometimes and depending on the occasion, there may be the opportunity to bathe with them, but let’s not forget that they are animals in freedom and this is not always possible.
This excursion offers us the opportunity of a sundowner ride on a very relaxing traditional sailing boat with excellent views. The sailboat goes out from the coast until 1 km, and once there the engine goes out, the sales are opened and you can relax and enjoy the tranquility, the turquoise colors, of the ocean and enjoy a spectacular sunset.
