ANDY WARHOL (Andrew Warhola) was an American artist, director and producer who was known for crucial role in the birth and development of pop art.  Some of his known works were exhibited in Caixa Forum, Madrid.

These Cow images were originally intended to cover the walls of Andy Warhol’s exhibition.  The Andy Warhol Cow’s were then sold as prints. The four prints were created between 1966 to 1976.

Death was a different theme in Warhol’s work in the 1960s, with his Marilyn Monroe portraits and the ‘Death and Disaster’ series.  His fears about dying were heightened in 1968 when he was shot and critically injured by Valerie Solanas.  The idea was to show exhibit, along with some dollar-sign paintings, at the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York in January 1982.
